Providing Emotional support for Children, Young people, and Adults.

What We Stand For

Since 2014, Turn The Page Counselling has been committed to supporting Children, young people and their families facing significant life challenges and struggles. Our gentle yet genuine way of providing counselling has developed over the years, but we pride ourselves still on growing trusting relationships with the young people, parents and staff we support.

We offer 1-1 counselling for children at school, teens and adults. We also support those in workplace counselling and offer group work. Families can access parent counselling, workshops and support groups, to help them understand their children's mental health needs, and we also offer Play therapy for children aged 5+.

We work flexibly with clients, and can provide evening or weekend sessions for those struggling to get away from school or work. We work hard to build strong, supportive relationships with all our clients, and aim to support those who need us-accommodating most financial circumstances.

We offer a lower rate service with our trainee counsellors for parents and adults and those aged 16-18 years old in need of support.

We are a counselling service ran solely by counsellors. Our warm and approachable way of providing therapy runs throughout our entire team of 23 staff.

SCHOOL COUNSELLING SERVICE

Made up of several dedicated counsellors who will be there to support students whilst in school, Turn The Page Counselling exists to help. Our team includes counsellors from a variety of backgrounds, who provide assessments and supportive counselling sessions to those students who are struggling within school for various reasons. Sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the young person, and the amount of sessions offered is based on these needs. We recommend between 6-12 weeks of therapy for most young people however schools are able to extend this if long term work is proven beneficial.
Alongside 1-1 counselling sessions, the school counsellor can liaise with pastoral staff, provide staff support, and input on well-being days, group work, and assemblies. Turn The Page counselling prides itself on a flexible and inclusive approach, building relationships within schools that promote positive mental health.

ADULT COUNSELLING SERVICE

We are also offer day time and evening counselling appointments for adults. We appreciate just how hard it can be to take time away from day to day commitments, whether that's family or work so we aim to work flexibly throughout the day and from 5.00pm to support you emotionally. We have previously worked with many parents/carers, and staff members outside of their schools. We offer a supportive place for safe communication within our comfortable Great Moor office in Stockport. If you would like to learn more about this service, please get in touch to discuss costs and availability.

WORKPLACE SUPPORT SERVICE

The last 12 months has seen the increase in need of support for work place counselling, and we support adults within many different occupations, including teachers and school staff. Turn The Page counselling offers workplace support sessions at our offices based in Great Moor, Stockport. Alongside face-to-face sessions we can also offer you telephone or online sessions too.

Providing school staff with this invaluable time allows them to continue their hard work with the students and young people. Again, the approach is flexible and the sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of your staff, whether that be 1-1 or within small groups.

PARENT/CARERS SUPPORT

We created our parent workshops in response to Parent/Carers feeling helpless and asking us how they can help their child to navigate the challenges in their mental health. We have designed a number of workshops covering a wide range of topics around the most prevalent areas of mental health for each age group. We provide a warm and safe group setting in which to help parents understand their children and their behaviours and they leave feeling more confident with our excellent, age appropriate resources  to take home.

We have workshops on the following topics

  • Primary school aged children with anxiety

  • High school aged children with anxiety

  • Children who are self harming or experiencing suicidal thoughts

  • Children who are questioning their gender or sexuality

  • Children who are experiencing symptoms of OCD

We also offer an informative workshop around the use of social media and how to keep children safe online.
All courses are available to be taught to staff with elements which can be used within the school settling as well as the home resources.

Prices are £35.00 per parent or discounted for more than one parent from the same family.
