What We Stand For

Since 2014, Turn The Page Counselling has been committed to supporting Children, young people and their families facing significant life challenges and struggles. Our gentle yet genuine way of providing counselling has developed over the years, but we pride ourselves still on growing trusting relationships with the young people, parents and school staff we support.

We offer school counselling, workplace counselling and group work. Families can access parent counselling, workshops and support groups, to help them understand their children's mental health needs, and we also offer Play therapy for children aged 5+.

We work flexibly with families, and can provide evening or weekend sessions for those struggling to get away from school or work. We work hard to build strong, supportive relationships with all clients, and aim to support those who need us-accommodating most financial circumstances.

We offer a donation based service with our trainee counsellors for parents/school staff and those aged 16-18 years old in need of support.

We are a counselling service ran solely by counsellors.

SCHOOL COUNSELLING SERVICE

Made up of several dedicated counsellors who will be there to support students whilst in school, Turn The Page Counselling exists to help. Our team includes counsellors from a variety of backgrounds, who provide assessments and supportive counselling sessions to those students who are struggling within school for various reasons. Sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the young person, and the amount of sessions offered is based on these needs. We recommend between 6-12 weeks of therapy for most young people however schools are able to extend this if long term work is proven beneficial.
Alongside 1-1 counselling sessions, the school counsellor can liaise with pastoral staff, provide staff support, and input on well-being days, group work, and assemblies. Turn The Page counselling prides itself on a flexible and inclusive approach, building relationships within schools that promote positive mental health.

ADULT COUNSELLING SERVICE

We are also offering evening counselling appointments for adults. We appreciate just how hard it can be to take time away from day to day commitments, whether that's family or work so we aim to work flexibly from 5.00pm to support you emotionally. We have previously worked with many parents/carers, and school staff members outside of their schools. We offer a supportive place for safe communication within our comfortable Cheadle office in Stockport. If you would like to learn more about this service, please get in touch to discuss costs and availability.

STAFF SUPPORT SERVICE

The last 12 months has seen the increase in need of support for teachers and school staff. Turn The Page counselling offers staff support which can take place within your own school on a weekly, monthly, or termly basis. Our counsellors have experience of working with staff across many of Stockport and Manchester schools and know the importance of these crucial staff members getting the support they need to process their busy work loads.
Providing staff with this invaluable time allows them to continue their hard work with the students and young people they support. Again, the approach is flexible and the sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of your staff, whether that be 1-1 or within small groups.

We created our parent workshops in response to Parents feeling helpless and asking us how they can help their child to navigate through the challenges in their mental health. We have designed a number of workshops covering a wide range of topics around the most prevelant areas of mental health for each age group. We provide a warm and safe group setting in which to help parents understand their children and their behaviours and they leave feeling more confident and with our excellent, age appropriate resources  to take home.
We have workshops on how to help my;

We also offer an informative workshop around the use of social media and how to keep children safe online.
All courses are also available to be taught to staff with the addition of elements which can be used within the school settling as well as the home resources.
